The building of the Odessa National Opera and Ballet Theater is included in the 11 most interesting sights of Eastern Europe according to Forbes magazine (2008). It was built in 1809 by the project of the famous Petersburg architect (of French origin) - Jean- François Thomas de Thomon. Initially, the main entrance was facing the sea and the building resembled an ancient temple. In 1873 it was completely destroyed by fire. After 14 years, the theater was built from scratch and in a different style. In this appearance, it exists nowadays.

Potemkin Stairs is among the ten most beautiful stairs in Europe. It got its name from the film "The Battleship Potemkin" directed by Eisenstein. To date, the staircase consists of 192 steps (originally there were exactly 200, but, during the expansion of the port, eight steps were lost) and a dozen spans. The length of the Potemkin Stairs is 142 meters, it is created promisingly - its base is much wider than the top, which makes it appear that it is the same width along its entire length. By the sides of The Potemkin Stairs, there are located Istanbul and Greek parks.
